Faux-Mink vs. Silk
What's are the differences? Both are synthetic but the manufacturing processing are different, so the strength and thickness of extensions are being made and design differently. Faux-Mink was invented at earlier time, the Silk was invented later the time for the purpose of lightweight. The manufacture has to come up with a new name for this father lightweight extensions, so they call it "silk." In other words, they both have the same materials as mink, but silk is classified as a lightweight type of mink. Not to confuse with Real Mink, its father is from real bird father. Nowadays Silk has improved substantially and it's most preferable for most clients who like to have comfortable lightweight and without having too much weight on its natural lashes ( that's a big Plus). Otherwise too much weight on natural lashes can have an adverse effect on natural lashes.

Silk is like a textile fiber, light-weight, fine and flexible than Mink, It's made to look natural or very glamorous, but not quite as dense/thick as the synthetic mink. Because silk is lighter weight, it's often a better option for those who have weak or fine lashes. Glamour sets of silk lashes are one of the most popular options for brides who are looking for lashes that are full and long yet still natural looking. For longer lashes, the gaps between get a bit wider, good for natural looks. But as for glamorous style, it entails mixing 3-5D to fill the gaps, hence balancing the structure of the entire glamorous lash effect.
The synthetic Faux Mink lashes are more bold, thicker, glossier than Silk. It used to be that synthetic Mink is the main source for 3D-5D volume lash because it's stronger and thicker curbs than silk, but not as comfortable as Silk. Nowadays Silk has improved substantially and it's most preferable for most clients who like to have comfortable light-weight and glamours lashes.
